Bright minerality is immediately apparent on the nose of this iteration of Calera's Mt. Harlan viognier. This is A-typical as this wine usually starts with fruit that leads into a mineral backbone. What is even more surprising is that this is still true after 5 years. Hay, honey and salinity help frame the vibrant zip and lively mouthfeel. It is a solid effort that is probably best consumed over the next couple of years.

Fairly assertive. Works better with food.
