The wines of Canale's Matteo Correggia with Brigitta Correggia (E&R Wine Shop, Portland OR): They were actually unsure where the Marun name came from, but Brigitta Correggia suggested it was the name of the previous land owner. This one offered rich but soft aromas that were slightly dusty. Rich and soft on the palate, with sweet candied fruit and elegant texture. Quite rich. Tart and puckering on the finish. This is really rich and surprisingly together given the quality of the regular '98 Barbera. Really nice length here, though.

Great dark purple color. Definitely modern style barbera. Great nose of chocolate and cherrys. Touch of new french oak added to the party. Still tons of acidity and years ahead of this baby.

Still a pretty dark purple color. I wish I had more of this wine. This was like drinking a bowl of ripe plums with a squirt of lemon. Great wine.
