Last bottle, at Vecchia Roma. Very dark cherry fruit continues ripe and delicious, combined with minerality and excellent acid structure and some tannin making it "delicious" and "serious" at the same time. I'm on to the 2006 now, but the 2004 will continue to drink well.

Has evolved to being earthier and darker with fruit less primary. Still a big though not acidic wine, standing up well to Marcella Hazan's seasoned steak recipe.

This really is a delicious wine. Seems soft for a Barbera, but it's the richness of fruit rather than any lack of acid.

Delicious black cherry fruit, good acid spine that doesn't protrude, a little earth for more interest. Again, liked a lot by nongeeks as well.

Alaska cruise. Purple, delicious, both fun and interesting. Acid and "sweet" fruit.
