This thing is funky and nasty. Cork was tiny but looked beautiful, perfectly in tact. The wine smells like a rotting snake carcass with fennel on top. Certainly plentiful aroma, but not pleasant. High acid is present on the palate, which isn't all bad. Once you begin aerating it though you do get these more funky flavors of rotting apples. The finish is absolutely awful though, with dried rotting apples, rotten fennel, a rotting rabbit carcass this time, and now perhaps imagine you ate all those things and then threw up, it also leaves you of the notion of those things in vomit form. The structural components of this wine are actually fine and pleasing, but the flavors are just awful and confusing. Its a confusing wine... basically, it's just a 37 year old Barbera, and Barberas don't last 37 years...
