  • Medium copper colour. On the nose, aromas of raisins, figs as well as muscat notes. It is very viscous. On the palate, the attack is very sweet, with the same aromas as found on the nose. The acidity seems too low for the amount of sugar, and this is where I am not in agreement with a previous comment - for me, most of the other, admittedly high end PXs, have been better, with a more balanced acidity and slightly lower viscosity. They just seem to have a better balance. There doesn't seem to be much to balance out the sugar in this and basically, I get the impression I'm drinking medium grade maple syrup. I'll stick with the aged PXs from Toro Albala (1987, 1980, 1973, 1968, 1955, 1937, 1931 and 1929) . Only for fans of extremely sweet tasting wines. 86-87
