Clear pale ruby; clean medium minus nose of red currants and strawberries; dry; high acidity; high grippy tannins; medium plus alcohol; medium plus body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of sour cherry; long finish; big unruly powerful wine - don’t drink now; host said this year was a catastrophe; tasted non-blind at LCBO dinner

The nose was spicy and intense with ripe cherry, raspberry, smoke, dried flowers, and with time, hints of animal musk. On the palate, I found soft, caressing textures, yet wonderfully pure, with notes of fresh strawberry, sweet spice and saturating minerality. The finish was long with youthful tannin coming forward yet still lively, with remnants of juicy strawberry and cherry which faded over time.

Some Wine Tasted at the Zachys La Paulée Auction; 3/10/2022-3/11/2022 (Le Bernardin Prive - New York NY): Small taste from 3L. Ultra bright and elegant with more red vs black fruit. Now a powerful vintage for this wine, but a charming wine that should drink well young, 2025 forward.
