Clear pale ruby; clean medium plus nose of soil, blackberry, barnyard and pretty perfume; dry; high acidity; medium plus tannins; medium plus alcohol; medium plus body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of sour cherries and soil; long finish; very rustic and drinking well now; host said they like to drink this at the winery; tasted non-blind at LCBO dinner

Opened one of my two bottles as I was curious about the reviews saying this was drinking so well young. I wish I had waited. Nice pure fruit from first opening. Lovely aromas of violets and red cherries. But within a few hours the tannins (and wood?) became more and more evident and distracting. I am sure I will prefer this with more cellar time. Enjoyable now, but at this price it make sense to let it reach a more optimal window—there are many other young and fruity wines to drink now.

Unfolds in the glass with wafts of strawberry preserves, cherry and violets, fully loaded with dry extract and taught tannins which expand with air, flavors include salted plum, strawberry, spiced cranberry, mushroom and mineral, has a tender chew about it, perfect with mushroom pizza with truffle oil, will certainly improve with more cellar time, but entering a nice drinking window

La Paulée de Los Angeles - The Verticals (Maybourne Hotel - Beverly Hills CA): Walkaround vertical tasting. Nicely spice aromas, charming red and black cherry. Slightly firm middle, but otherwise accessible. Very fun soon.

Wines Tasted at the La Paulée Verticals Session (The Maybourne, Beverly Hills): Light ruby. Perfumed green tones. Medium weight, nicely sappy. Tangy dark fruit, citrus, and soil with a mildly austere, tannic finish. For the future. Excellent Clos Vougeot.
