Stood up for weeks and decanted off 1-2oz sediment. Medium ruby, minimal bricking; medium intensity aromatics, black cherry, fruit forward but plenty of spice and complexity, slight animal musk (in a good way), a bit of leather; palate is medium bodied, medium-plus acidity, medium alcohol, well balanced primary fruit with some florals (violets?); medium-plus length finish. This is a serious sangiovese, enjoyable now but with a decade or two of evolution in front of it. 92-93

Nose provides cherry, geranium leaf, a little leather. Juicy cherry but broadens out on the mid palate. Tangy finish with good depth. More to come here one suspects

North & Central Italy offline (Terra Rossa, London N1): An open nose showing red fruit and rose petals with some coffee grounds lingering. Pure and with gorgeous layers of concentrated delicious red fruit. Good freshness and proper length. One of the best wines of the night - in fact, group WOTN.
North & Central Italy (Terra Rossa): Embryonic and slightly inexpressive now, and the last sip was the best. Young and closed with macerated ripe cherry notes and liquorice. Violet and rose emerge with air. There's a density which hints at its potential, and fantastic acidic lift to carry it there.

This just keeps getting better and better and the succulent acidity perfectly cuts through the tomato/meat sauce. Hard for me to find a wine from Tuscany better than this.
