    Tasted non blind.

Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of anise, black berries and black cherries. Flavors of black berries, black cherries and black raspberries. Medium to tart acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold.

  • Dark red almost purple. Nose wasn't offering much, dark fruit some wood toast. The palate was thin, tannic with bitter cherry. Not showing well today perhaps shut down or I hope so.

  • Clear medium garnet with youthful clear ring. Pretty clean nose with floral high tones, some leather, under-fire red berry (in a nice way). The palate is actually quite complex - not to be confused with power, balance or structure... the wine is in its awkward teens I'd say. The medium acidity currently surfaces with the green/herbal flavors (2014 was a tough year) as opposed to balancing with the tart cherries which present towards the end of the palate. The fruit flavors fully materialize only after the medium+ tannins have finished asserting themselves. I think this awkward structure happens to work for this wine, though I'd like to revisit in years to come and see how it matures.

  • Sweet red fruit on the nose, cherries, blackberries, fresh roses this is everything a Barolo should be...already drinking well now

  • The nose showed dark red fruits with dusty spice and crushed stone minerality. It was silky on the palate, showing fresh strawberry and mineral tones, as brisk acids enlivened the experience and added freshness. It finished medium-long with tart red fruits and spice, as saturating tannin slowly faded.
