WS Grand Tour (Walkaround Tasting) (New Orleans): This was drinking like a very average Napa cab. Very disappointed given the price point, producer and vintage. Maybe context (mass wine tasting) or maybe the bottle, but it didn’t do it for me.
Easter dinner of rack of lamb. Decanted 1 1/2 hours. Rich garnet color (almost opaque) with robust blackberry, cassis and black cherry on the nose and palatte. Less bitter than the one we opened in 2021. Integrated tannin structure and soft but adequate acidity from start to finish. Long savory finish with black pepper spice and a hint of cocoa. Certainly one of the top Hall Cabs delivering exactly what we expect from Napa Cabs. An excellent pairing with the rack of lamb.

Bold delivering a full load of blackberry jam, dark cherry, spice, expresso and red licorice. Concentrated and thick on the forefront and long and ultra flavory on the back end. This has it Hall! NI:5, FI:24, FC:9, B:4, L:5

Another delicious Kathryn Hall offering. Has all the signature Hall characteristics. Big black fruit-forward cab (blackberries/cherries), with nice balance and complexity, finishing with a bit of earthiness and floral. Will age well for at least another decade, but probably much longer.

Tasted at Wine Spectator’s Grand Tour in New Orleans. It’s good, but not special. I expected much more for the vintage and at this price point.
