Tasty, and filled roles as both happy hour glass & food wine well. I get dark red cherry, blackberry, red plum, and a bit of dried herb on the nose. All of this fits well on the med+ body palate. Structure is largely integrated today, showing med tannin & acid. Probably one to drink in the next couple of years--plenty tasty & interesting at this point.

Opened by Mark. Not decanted. Crimson color. This was the better of the two 2016 Dolcetto wines that we drink. Earthy nose. Notes of brambly red fruit, currants and some woodiness on the finish. 90 points.

Popped and poured. Black fruit aroma with subtle brambly notes. Flavors of forest floor, red fruit. Slight vanilla in the finish. Nuanced, balanced, firm backbone, some complexity, great staying power. Versatile, can accompany a wide variety of food from pizza on up.

Deep purple. Lighter nose than expected. Medium body, blackberry hints. Marked tannins on opening, but moderated with time. Will definitely decant for hour next bottle. Nice finish. Great value.

Wow does that smell wonderful - dark purple fruit to it. Maybe a bit reductive in the mid palate. Or maybe just that black bitterness of dolcetto showing through.
