I've been having very good luck with inexpensive wines from the 1990's from that have held up very well, and this is another example. Surprisingly vibrant, with ample fruit balanced by nice acidity, I would never guess in a blind tasting that it is 17 years old. I don't know that it has improved with age, but the age hasn't hurt it either.

Bright plummy fruit and hints of earth and leather, held together with fine tannin, holding up very well.
