On the nose, Oak..toasted oak and more oak, didn't get the fruit at all, maybe some burnt toast if you like burnt toast. Taste, oak, some vanilla if you dig deep, very woodsy, forest floor moss and not much more, full bodied, beautiful deep clolour but this wine again is not what I expected. Based on previous reviews by others, this may have over stayed its welcome and should have been drank by now. Going to get through my last two bottles sooner than the original 2014.

Drank this after a Ridge Geyserville Zin so the contrast was immediately apparent. This was a rustic old-world wine that would have really benefited with some food. Overall after the memory of the outstanding Zin faded and this had some air time it developed into a very good drink.

Very dark burgandy, oak and vanilla on the nose. Mediium fullness oak but the fruit didn't come out decent rounded and tanic medium finish. Not all that I expected.

Full body, deep purple color. Intense red fruits and flowers aroma. Dominant ripe cherry and raspberry palate, long nutty finish. Rich but fresh and juicy, complex, balanced, tannic now, gentle berries acidity, very enjoyable. Still young, drink next year.

Empson Shows Their Wines (Conference room): Big, rich, intense nose. This is really tasty stuff. Rich and intense, with minerals and great depth lying beneath all that fruit and structure. This is a fantastic Dolcetto, with layers behind. Not an every day drinker, though. Killer Stuff
