One hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Blueberry, plum, birthday cake, freeze dried strawberries, and subtle rosemary. Smooth, dry palate. Firm, full, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.
Very nice drinker. It’s a touch Napa-esque. It’s also a bit coarse and rustic overall.

2021 Bordeaux Tasting Trip; 7/12/2021-7/16/2021 (Bordeaux): A tasting in Bordeaux of 71 wines, some of the best I have ever had and others, umm, well were disappointing. If you read the Tasting story (and my grading history) I think it will do a much better job putting this in perspective.
Let me start off by saying I absolutely love the 2016 Grand Vin, thank you MC, so much so that I bought two more times to make sure I had enough in the cellar for future drinking. So I was very excited to taste other great vintages while at the estate, which on a side note, is one of the most beautiful Chateaus plus has eclectic art to keep you on your toes (pretty cool from the insanely large gemstone to the NYC style spray paint tagged on the door, etc. - Really cool.
Anyway three wines were opened, none with the requisite time to bring these wines to their full potential:
Ducru Beaucaillou 2017 Lalande Borie 2017 La Croix Beaucaillou 2017
This wine was a disappointment and there are better options at this price point.

On the fresh side, the fruit melts in your mouth with accents of cocoa and black cherries delivered in a round, open and accessible style. This medium-bodied charmer is ready to go.
