Ruby red, slight fade to edge. Forest floor with dark cherry , dark tendency but still some red fruit, and whiff of oak.Builds on palate with a nice long finish. Enjoyable

Sorry gang, hate to rain on the Drouhin parade, but this wine is really lost it’s energy. The fruit is simple on the nose and palate. And the real bummer is that there really aren’t any real interesting secondary or tertiary notes. So, very disappointed that I bought this from the winery when visited, cellared properly and super average. Sorry guys, I so wanted this to be amazing.

B30; G10; 4*+9+4.5+8.5*+8.5+4.5+4.5=94; Side by side with '15 Eyrie Original Vines Reserve. Initially more approachable without any faint funk. Lots of nicely balanced darker berry fruit. This maintained wonderful deep rich aromas and flavors throughout 2 hours+ of time in the glass. This was very different than the Eyrie, somewhat surprising because of same vintage and AVA, but obviously the vineyards and winemaking take two very different paths, both good, but very different. Ultimately, the Burgundy family gets out-Burgundied by the Oregon original!! This will drink well for several years if properly cellared and may improve some, but for now, contemplative consumption nets very nice results.

Medium ruby. Subtle but very nice red fruit nose. Really gorgeous palate - fruit, minerality. Long finish. Really delicious wine!
