3 hours in a decanter. Up against 2013 dunn Napa Valley 2013 paolo Scavino bric del fiasc and 2008 circa cab franc. Definitely the biggest wine of the group, unfortunately it was also everyone's least favorite. It probably improved a little over the course of the evening but it seemed very heavy and very dark fruited. Maybe it needs a lot more cellar time but I expected more for its price point and I would not buy again. While not a bad wine i think there are Much better Shiraz for the money.

Black purple in color, the wine is full of plum sauce, roasted meat, cassis and syrupy blackberry. Quality new world Syrah, with lots of stuffing, yet elegant and precise.
45 minute decant. Nose of dark black fruits, fresh sage, and cedar/spruce isn't particularly expressive but lets you know this is a "big" wine. Dense and syrupy palate with rich blackberry, dark blueberry pie, dark chocolate, black peppercorns, savory herbs, thistle, and elderberry. Plush tannins on the finish with dark cherry, black plum, coffee grounds, mint and caramel notes.
Opened for 2 hours. Color is deep garnet. On the nose: Pepper, blood, sour funk, cassis and plum. On the palate: Plum, sour cherry, pepper and Asian spices. Soft and elegant mouthfeel. Reminds me a bit of Cayuse from Washington State. This is good and good value for money.
