Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 89 points

  • Cork was damp but intact. Deep orange gold. Sherried nose with hints of caramel, candied orange, and burnt toast. Salty fruit on the palate, gaining in intensity under prominent acids, nutty bitterness at the back as it moves into a long acid finish. This is a bottle a friend in the Bay Area inherited, was probably well stored for most of its life. I have little experience of aged white burgundy, so I can’t compare. Objectively, without regard to its age, I would probably give this an 89 or a 90. But this is ethereal, graceful in old age, monumental.
