There were aromas of mango, grilled nuts and truffled honey. It had good shape in the mouth and had a high glycerol feel. Colour was light for its age and there was a squeeze of fresh lemon to the finish.

Tasted as a reference wine at Swedish Importer Tryffelsvinets yearly Bonneau du Martry & Comte Georges de Vogûé 2013 vintage event, with Jean Luc from Vogüé hosting. The 2000 vintage of Comte Georges de Vogûé Bourgogne Blanc displays a very flirty and open nose. Notes of pencil lead/graphite, white fruits, dry minerals and a touch of spicy wood. Palate is dry, with fine fruits, pears, fresh, with a fat and sweet ripe, long finish. A bit on the dryer side, indicating maturity and maybe time to drink now rather than later? Very fine “Musigny Blanc”, indeed. (94 – 95)

Drinking very nicely, but certainly in the last part of its aging curve. Not sure whether this is representative as I did not have the 2000 before. Slightly oxidised nose, some tropical fruit shining through. On the palate some pineapple fruit, nice bitterness of seville orange, minerals.

Vogue Musigny Dinner at Charlie Trotter's (Chicago, IL): Single blind in a flight of three vintages of Vogue blanc. I think this was on the good side of being prematurely oxidized, but this was showing way too much age for the quality and style of good white Burg from the 2000 vintage.

(Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Bourgogne Blanc) Bright canary yellow color; TCA, sweet butter and pineapple nose; TCA on palate too, but good, slightly oily texture, concentration, tart citrus, tangy, lemon, mineral palate; medium-plus oily finish (could be excellent w/o the TCA)
(Comte Georges de Vogüé Bourgogne Blanc) Pale gold. A waxy nose with subtle, cream covered, pineapple. The nose slowly evolves a faint butterscotch edge. The density and balance when coupled with the acidity is rather good, it's not entirely subtle but there is more than a hint of refinement, there's even a lingering creamy edge to the nut infused finish. Very interesting and worth keeping in the cellar for 5+ years - as demonstrated by...

200 Burgundy Grand Crus from vintage 2000, 4-day blind tasting (Singapore): Oxidative, over the hill. A shame for this Musigny Blanc, but then again no surprise with Vogue's sub-par wine making skills.
