Dry but rich and concentrated style (thus not coming across as not bone dry), fine acidity and minerality, no signs of age. More or less fully developed but drinks beautifully now, 91-92 p.
Yet another 2001 from Alsace that has kept fresh for surprisingly long. One of those wines that shows the region at its best!

St Jacques Open That Bottle Night. Green tinged in the glass, Bill told me it was a Boxler Brand Riesling and I guessed the vintage correctly as 2001 for it's fine mix of richness on the nose and dryness on the palate. Fruitier on the nose compared to the same wine from Zind Humbrecht. More open than the bottle I had in 2004 but I think it still has room to improve for many years. 50+13+12+8+8 = 91+

This wine was surprisingly dry, at least to me. Good acidity and cut but less contrast w/ sweetness than I expected. It did pare very well w/ the Asian cusine. This is a very minerally wine and probably quite pleasing to those who feel there is too much RS in most Alsatians.

More dry than I expected. Salty, mineral, a bit stinky. Pleasant but not mindblowing. Probably wanted more time to follow than I had to give it in a restaurant setting.

Nice cut of mineral and citrus. A level of richness. Balance skewed to acid. Fairly simple. Overall nice, but falling short of compelling.
