The first bottle we opened was oxidized and clearly not a pristine example....the second....wow...was in great shape. Nose had a myriad of roasted nuts, dried citrus and candied flowers wrapped in spice and subtle coffee notes. The palate was equally rich and intense with autolytic insanity and ever-present fruit and spice notes. Finish was long and layered....pretty reference point aged champagne

The Fourteenth Stonefields Dinner (Guelph, Ontario, Canada): This was recently "found" in the cellar of Bollinger in March 2011 and disgorged after 44 years on the lees! 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay
