Community Tasting Notes (8) Avg Score: 91.8 points

  • Prior bottle was one year ago and this wine remains in a really good spot. Nose was essentially identical with lots of passion fruit along with peach, citrus and floral notes. Between light and medium bodied with a virtually identical fruit profile of white peach and pear upfront, white pineapple and passion fruit through the middle and lots of citrus and acidity on the back. As expected the mid-body felt a bit more expressive than my prior bottle while the acidity still feels quite vibrant. The tart citrus and acidity contrast well with the white tropical mid-body qualities. Overall, still feels fairly young, but developing positively. Should continue to improve over the next several years with a long life ahead.

  • Prior bottle was a bit over 17 months ago and this wine continues to show quite well. Peach, passion fruit, floral and citrus notes on the nose. Nearly medium bodied with white peach and pear upfront, moving to passion fruit and tart, white pineapple through the middle. Citrus along with very good acidity on the back provide structure and contrast. With a bit more time, the mid-body should continue to open up and balance with the acidity on the backside. I'll plan to open my next bottle in Q2 2024.

  • First bottle of 2023: a fairly classic Mosel Kabinett. Helpfully not too sweet - in fact, bright, slatey and refreshing - with typical lemon/lime/passionfruit nose. Happy with that!

  • No formal notes but was drinking nicely. Recall some petrol right out of the bottle and a ton of acidity and tropical fruit.

  • Passion fruit, floral and citrus notes on the nose. Close to medium bodied (8.5% ABV) with a mixture of deep orchard fruit (lots of peach) mixed with slightly tart tropical qualities (especially passion fruit) both upfront and through the middle. The mid-body has excellent depth and already demonstrates good roundness and expression. There's a density and a richness here, not quite sweetness (but close) that allows the wine to show it's fruit so well. Lightly tart notes on the backside along with acidity provide the structure. Should continue to evolve positively and open up over the next few years. I may wait until Q1 2023 to try my next bottle, alongside the Bernkasteler Badstube and save the first bottles of G-H and W-S for Fall 2022.
