Opened and poured through an aerator. Probably should have decanted for several hours. Tannins are still prevalent. Long finish but dry and somewhat harsh.

A very attractive wine in a style that strikes a balance between a lighter less ripe Cabernet and the more ponderous wines common at some prestige addresses. Dark garnet in color, with a nose showing hints of sage and menthol on a pomegranate/black cherry background, and you detect barest suggestions of what will become a more spicy aroma just at the end. On the palate, that same sense of poise: the wine is ripe but not to the point of being at all sweet, with a long mineral-inflected finish. In such a challenging vintage (heat spikes, then the fires) it is amazing to encounter unquestionable successes like this. Bravo!
If you open this young, decant for 4 hours. In fact my bottle was best on day two, and the best glass was the very last one! These young Napa wines genuinely need a long time to open up.
My guess is that it will peak at around 2028. 93-95?
