Opened for an hour prior to pouring. Deep violet in the glass. Aromas of dark fruits, coconut and cassis. Blackcurrants, chocolate, mocha and hints of anise and dark pepper flavors. Medium to full bodied, nicely structured and balanced. Medium length finish that was appealing and smooth. Received as a gift but I'd recommend finding a few for the cellar.

This is a very straightforward Napa Cab without the overly oaked, overly ripe Napa style of the past 30 years. We love Buehler’s commitment to straightforward, solid, good wine, and this is no exception. We decanted 2 hours before drinking — it kept opening up and getting better as the night went on.

Too young. Double decanted an hour ahead of supper and it was still closed all evening. Dark berries, cassis, cedar, and vanilla on the nose. Powerful tannins, alcohol, and astringency dominate the palate. The long aftertaste did not make me want to rush back for another taste.
Full disclaimer - this is not my preferred style of wine. For this reason I have elected to not give it a score as I fear my personal preferences may make my judgement unfair. But I was not a fan of this bottle. FWIW I do have another. I will not consider opening it for another 2-5 years.

This is serious Cab. I’ll admit I thought it was the regular Estate—didn’t see the Papa’s Knoll ribbon until after I decanted it. Then I took a whiff and, wow, there’s a lot going on! A lot of jaw-clenching tannins and savory cedar notes emerge on the palate, but there’s still enough good fruit to make it approachable. It went very well with lamb now, but I’m going to stash our other bottle in the cellar for a while now that I know what it is.

This is better than the estate but it is still overly extracted, oaked and ripe.
