Decided it was time to pop this one, slow ox for about 20 minutes then pour to share with friends. A very special wine with intense aromatics, and perhaps a bit too expressive (we had a few much less aromatic wines that night). The initial few sips to me were probably the best before the intense buttercream like sensations expanded even more. This wine requires to be paired with richer flavored food. Other than the usual stonefruits and flower aromas, this reminded me quite a bit of some Puligny Montrachet, but perhaps more elegant. For a PF this is very high end that can arguably fit inside a Michelin star tasting menu restaurant, or you open this on a very special date night to impress.

This was rich. Did I mention, this was rich. Well balanced. It really needs to be consumed with food. We drank it with appetizers while watching a live stream of Anders Osbourne, who ripped it from his house in New Orleans surrounded by his art. A nice wine to serve with cheese. We were not so fancy, and had it with Ruffles Potato chips with a Ranch dip. Delightful combo.

14% vol South-facing slope (hence ‘burnt’). Bright gold appearance Deep and heady nose, very concentrated lemon and lime citrus, oily too. Compact and youthful, aeration brings a superb sweet perfume – all very pretty and promising. Very full, broad and rich and alive. There is an electric feel to the acidity, which plays well with the concentrated lemon and lime citrus oils. Toast, cream and nut underneath. Full of potential. Brilliant wine.
