  • (Disgorged in 2008, 100% Chardonnay)
Lovely golden yellow colour with an endless stream of very fine bubbles and a maturing nose showing cream, butter caramel and some gentle flowers as well. Still showing a very nice acidity of yellow apples and a touch of burnt sugar before a very distinct plums peel bitterness on the lengthy finish that transforms into a pleasant creaminess. Wow! This is really showing very well right now, but should keep for many years to come!
    (Best 2014-2029)

  • (Disgorged in 2008, 100% Chardonnay)
Yellow colour with a very closed down and still youthful nose showing lots of chalk and minerals at first, with glass time it opens up with mature yellow apples and a hint of chocolate. Palate is very tough with lots of acidity and enough fresh fruit to back it up for further cellaring to soften out, but feeling lighter on the palate than I thought. This was a very positive showing tonight. (Probably best 2019-2029)

  • After Salon, VVF, Churchill, Cristal, Comtes, Clos des Goisses another 1999.
Like all the other 99 in good shape. Reached his Peak for me. Not suitable for Long aging but nowadays very pleasant. Citrus, nuts, Brioche, great fine bubbles, Long clean finish, minimal oxidation signs, drinkable over the next 3-5 years

  • Not my favorite vintage, last time a little bit fresher than now. At the same level as Louise 1999. Still citrus, some red apples, little oxidation signs, still very joyable but a little bit broad in the finish, will drink my last bottles within the next 2 years, 91-92

  • Disgorged in fall of 2008) Still youthful in colour with a stream of fine and tiny bubbles and a lovely nose that first opens up with flowers and minerals and after a while turns into more reductive notes showing chocolate. Palate is more intense showing reductive maturity with plums and apples in a very fine and expressive style. This is drinking more lovely than ever before, but still has more to give. Should cellar well for at least another decade.
