Definitely past it's prime. Color was slightly brown, there were few bubbles in the glass and it tasted a bit old and oxidated but three of us still had no problem of finding the goodness and finishing it off.

My 30th birthday dinner (Restaurant Cofoco): Amber colored with fine bubbles. The nose is oxidized, but also showing apples, slightly brown and caramel. The acidity and bubbles are still good and giving a great frame, but the palate is dominated by oxidized, mature and masculine notes. Notes of rye bread and brown apples.

Medium colour, full mousse. Bready aromas on the nose followed by a nicely biscuity plate. Still in surprisingly good nick. This is a NV b de blanc but apparently based on the 79 vintage. ***

Fairly oxidized as with previous bottles but still had a little oomph. Purchased from WHWC. Drink now.

Unique wine...a bit past prime IMO - given the amount of oxidation, yet it had infinite complexity...and a very long finish...DRINK.
