Community Tasting Notes (7) Avg Score: 91.3 points

  • Colour: clear pale lemon
Nose: clean, medium(+) intensity, primary, youthful. Lemon, lemon peel, lemon curd. Mandarin. Orange blossom. Tinned mango. Apricot, peach. Honey. Smokey, struck flint, slate.
Palate: medium sweet, medium(+) acidity, medium bodied (quite full bodied by Kabinett standards), low alcohol (9%). Medium(+) intensity, long finish. Lemon, lemon peel, lemon curd. Mandarin. Orange blossom. Tinned mango. Apricot, peach. Honey. Smokey, struck flint, slate. Lithe, lively, vital, with racy, linear, acidity. Still very young, but very drinkable. The 50g/L residual sugar is perfectly balanced by the acidity, and comes over as much as fruitiness as it does as sweetness — this is a good food wine, not a desert wine.
Conclusions: outstanding! This is a superb Riesling that’s beautiful to drink now, but could easily be cellared further.
    Seal screwcap.

  • Screwcap, 9% alc. AP0519.
    No formal notes.

I could drink this refreshing Riesling all day long. Not particularly complex right now, just flat-out enjoyable. Nice balance. Sweetness well tempered by the acidity. Becomes more expressive with time in the glass.

  • Screwcap, 9% alc., AP0519. Pale, grey-green straw.

Vibrant and beautiful nose. Apple, lime, pineapple, sulphur. Some herbal notes add interest. A zingy acidity is needed to offset the fruit weight.

Opinion: Quite a full bodied, yet enjoyable Kabinett. Question mark on having sufficient acidity to keep the wine fresh as it ages.

  • White gold. Apple, Rose and musk, soap and Talc nose.
Red apple and honey, mandarin, white flowers. Mango and peach nectar entry.
Honey, toast, and limes through the length.
Very satisfying, but all front of mouth and round, if it had more length score would be higher. Delicious. 92.

  • Screwcap, 9% alc. AP0519. Pale straw.

Peach, lime, struck match, green herbs, bakery, coconut, and a tropical note in the background.

Rather rich and fruity on the palate. Linear. Soft acids, but appropriate for the level of sweetness. Airy finish.

Opinion: Very enjoyable. Plenty of life in this.
