In the first couple of days, it was sour like a vinegar. And in the following days it was thick like a syrah. Not sure if the food did not match. Still dark berry fruity.

I picked up about 10 of these from a local shop that was closing them out at $10 a pop. I opened a bottle, found it to be pretty meh, and figured that, worst case scenario, they’d make a perfectly fine party wine that I could serve to people who didn’t care about wine. Now, after forgetting about them in the cellar for a few years, these have blossomed into lovely wines. Full of dark fruit - raspberry, cranberry, blackberry - with hints of violet and strawberry on the finish, and of course, that classic granitic core. It just took them a few years to really come into their own. I look forward to seeing how they continue to evolve.
