Decanted about an hour before pairing with hanger steak, roasted potatoes, and arugula salad. Nose: pencil shavings, graphite, cranberry sauce, gum rubber, celery seed/Cel-ray, Pastis Palate: medium weight, tart red fruit, stone, fine tannin well integrated, medium finish This is drinking well and quite enjoyable. Don’t see it getting better from here, so drink and enjoy now.

Five months after the prior, and alas, our last. Lovely, generous, but like our last experience, we could’ve used a bit more acidity. Still, very enjoyable over three nights.

Eight months after the prior: As O-M’s note below observes, this does show the roughness of the vintage, and there is less acidity than would be desired. That said, we found this joyously (and not excessively) barnyardy and funky. Very enjoyable over three nights, and especially with grilled hamburgers.

An “N” bottle. Definitely shows the warm vintage, and that’s not a great thing. Ripe fruit that comes as the expense of tension and more-ishness. Still, the granitic stoniness and mild funkiness are appealing, and there’s a certain elegance that perhaps will win out over the ripeness after a few years. Enjoyable, but perhaps not up to Lapierre standards for now.

Consistent notes - very good. Rich and good depth. Nice spice and vibrant fruit.
