Spanish fun day one (N&J's place, Canberra): From Coravin. Blue and blackberry, a little sweet spice, clean, touch of baked earth. Fresh, fleshy, grape skin tannins are slightly coarse, drying, fruit persists, clean, simple, yum.

Popped and poured though it proves a little reticent and closed so glug into the wine jug it goes...the splashy aeration reveals plums, black and blue berries, a certain warm garrigue and minerality and a smidge of fruit lozenge on the nose. The palate is softly engaging; more fleshy than fresh, similar fruit profile with very grape skin tannins proving persistent yet fairly lightweight. Second bottle followed first as night follows day...showed a little more meatiness which detracted from the fruit compote notes. Overall this is nice, simple, smashable.

Note taken after the event but recollections are of dark berried fruit, very clean and fruit pure, baked earth, smidges of garrigue, no oak but grape skin tannins. Lovely. And great QPR.

Aromas are ripe but pretty with pure berried fruits, sweet spice, touch of garrigue, as well as this there is a slight spirituous quality on the nose. Juicy, starts off fruit sweet with, especially, strawberry, tends to the to the savoury with time, plentiful tannic grip is drying, alcohol helps carry the finish but proves, again, quite spiritous. Nice(ish)...chill before drinking...
