Opened 3 hours before pouring. Translucent light red. Anise and herb scents. Elegant, medium weight. Equal parts tangy dark red fruit and more savory licorice and garrigue with a moderately tannic finish. Good depth and complexity without any heat. Quite enjoyable now but room for improvement.

A very delicate and fun CdP. Cherry red color. Lighter than the Gallimarde we opened at the same time. Red fruits on the nose, some spice. On the palate, its raspberries, herbs, spice. Very balanced and easy to drink now. And some age won't hurt it at all! Delicious!

Decanted 3 hours. Ruby +, clear. well thankfully this is all red fruited at first - mulberry wax tarts and kirsch, then leather, pepper and garrigue. This is medium + weight and medium - acid. The palate is silky already - there's no obvious tannin, the fruit is pure, but this seems more alcoholic than it should be from Charvin. Lots and lots of pepper and violets on the finish, and just maybe some alcohol warmth in the throat.

First of three bottles; shared with a dear friend who appreciates wines from this producer. Decanted and back into corked bottle, consumed starting about two hours later and then over several hours. Ruby. Bright red fruits on the nose. Bright red fruits on the palate with quite a bit of acidity and soft tannins, considerable concentration and complexity. Very grenache tasting, and very bright, ripe and high in alcohol, clearly from a hot growing season. I don't taste much Mouvedre or Syrah, or much oak. Nothing like Beaucastel or Pegau, my go-to CDPs; this is almost Pinot Noir/Nebbiolo-like and reminds me of a riper Les Cailloux of the late 80s/early 90s. Very delicious. Iconic. (92-94). ADDENDUM: Day 2. The wine is absolutely singing.

This was decanted for about 2 hours before drinking. The nose is plush and giving with a good bit of sour red cherries upfront along with plum sauce, raspberries, kirsch liqueur, crushed violets, fresh herbs, and incense. The nose is complex and inviting right now as the tones lean in the purple spectrum. The Full bodied feel is youthful, but with poise along with crisp, medium acidity and chewy, medium+ tannins. This is extremely drinkable right now in a pure hedonistic and primary sort of way. There is a ton to like here and I can easily seeing this turn it on with another 5+ years. This is a real sexy, young Charvin and I look forward to seeing where this goes.
