This really demanded the better part of a 5 hour double decant to come into focus and reveal its slightly restrained aromas of ripe red fruit, dried florals, black olives and garrigue, which gave way to a rich, sappy, saturated black raspberry profile with a refreshing herbal, mineral edge that did not quit. 95+

Domaine Charvin 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape. Of course its quite young but it has an impressive nose of red and dark fruits, violets and crushed herbs in the nose. Deep purple in color. The mouth shows elegance and soft sweet tanins with an long incedible finish.
Love it to be there every year and even in the "smaller" years maybe like 2021 this wine shows the power of the southern rhone !
But many others do also :-)
Cheers !

Still young, best on day 3. Full bodied, round, balanced, 15% alcohol very well integrated. I“m drinking much less CDP than five years ago, but this bottle is very convincing. Will develop further, 92+.

A gift from my dad, so had sentimental value. It doesn't pull any punches (in terms of abv) but is overall fairly balanced, with lots of spice and garrigue notes to offset the extremely ripe fruit profile. Would recommend holding for a bit if you have them.

Carafé durant 3 heures. Robe rubis, brillante. Arrive doucement à maturité, il lui faut encore beaucoup d’air. Prunes, grenadine, fraises, cuir au nez. Puissant mais bien équilibré, il est soyeux en bouche. Belle longueur.
