Decanted 90 minutes I think on trip to Florida to drink with Mark1npt & Carol. Not fully mature yet but excellent. Lots of tobacco, leather & spice. I thought the fruit still a bit young and a bit of tartness but minor. Will get into zone in another 6-12 months. Excellent extraction & mouthfeel. One of the better Italian wines for sure.

Brought to the table by WGDM tonight.....needs every bit of 1-2 hours of decant/air. Loads of leather and aged red fruit on the nose. To me, it drinks like a wine that is 5-10 years older than it is. Having said that, it is beautiful........soft, red fruited, smooth and fantastic! Thanks for bringing this one, Rick! I loved it..........

Together with Gino at Chateau St Gerlach (Les Salons).
And suddenly it appeared on my way: on a wine liste at a non too exaggerated price.
Drunk with "Gently cooked rib of Porc Qualité Ardenne" first, then at its own.
And I loved it: certainly within my top-10 of reds.
I agree with Falstaff who tasted it in 2019: "Deeply coloured, brilliant ruby-violet. Very clear, distinct nose with complex interplay with blackberry, dark currant and ripe blueberry, plus fine resinous notes and tobacco. Fresh on the palate initially with a lot of juicy, ripe berry fruit and opening up with fine-meshed, dense tannin, salty and very long."
And I disagree with the tasters here who write that it is still much too young now: in all its vigorousness it is magnificent!
Wonderful intensity on the bouquet with cherries, blackcurrants, mint and rose petals. Dry with finesse. The acidity while present is not dominating, but is gently balanced. The tannic structure shows a wine that is still in its infancy. Black fruits, olives and sweet liquorice in effortless harmony and a long lingering finish. Save another decade.
Jay brought to Dragonfly. The WOTN. Lean with some nice barnyard and a little bitterness in the finish. 14% ABV. 92- pts. Always like this house style.
