Sample tasting at work (Oinoscent): Impressive breadth in the nose, flinty, fine oak frame, elegant, still very youthful, citrus notes in the back, toasty oak, smoke notes. Palate is far more balanced and smooth compared to the nose, still okay but slightly nutty, no buttery notes, mineral notes, grapefruit notes, med body, med to high acidity, long lasting finish.

Such a thrilling Chassagne-Montrachet 1. Cru -Morgeot from Maison Jadot / Duc de Magenta - superbly balanced & well-positioned for further cellaring. Pale, shimmering golden in the glass. Nose somewhat shy initially, then soaked with peach & apricots, green apples, sweet hints of tropical fruits, nuts & vanilla. Palate is medium+-bodied with lively acidity, overwhelmingly pure & fresh mouthfeel, flavours echoing nose while finishing on a delightful mineral and citrus-dry, lingering and structured note! A banger!

Louis Jadot 2018 Vintage en Primeur Barrel Tasting (Brasserie Margeaux - Chicago IL): Walk around tasting. From barrel sample that was assembled in the fall and shipped to the US then. Lots of apple throughout, some lemon and lemon curd. Intriguing combination of ripe and tart, with a long, leaner, minerally finish. Very good length. 89-91 point potential.

Lemon oak mango coconut wet stones. Will benefit from another 2-3 years in the cellar

Lemon, chalky minerality, good. 91-92. My favorite of the Jadot 18’ white Burgs so far.
