The wood is very obvious. Nose full of eucalyptus. Nice creamy mouthfeel, but drying tannins. Think the oak will probably integrate, but obtrusive for now. I liked the 2008 of this wine, so presumably it benefits from time and/or a cooler/less ripe vintage.

Still young but nonetheless excellent after a 3-hr decant. Notes of licorice, tar, and dark plum. Tannins still very present, with moderate+ acidity.
