  Still young but nonetheless excellent after a 3-hr decant. Notes of licorice, tar, and dark plum. Tannins still very present, with moderate+ acidity.

  The Barolo Boys Cru Ginestra 2016 (67 Pall Mall): 24 days maceration, 1 year in barrique and 2 years botte, east-facing.
  
  The wood is very obvious. Nose full of eucalyptus. Nice creamy mouthfeel, but drying tannins. Think the oak will probably integrate, but obtrusive for now. I liked the 2008 of this wine, so presumably it benefits from time and/or a cooler/less ripe vintage.
