Smells like Ginestra. And a little bit of soap, yet in a good way. Supposedly lots of new wood on them but I don't sense that. Actually, I think the bottle is a little off. But its still pretty good, and shows the vintage.

Balsamic notes, also some sweet red and dark red cherries, spices. Very balanced with medium-high but silky tannin, high acidity and good length. Slightly simpler than the other Barolos tasted during this excellent visit.

Piemont Trip; 3/28/2018-4/1/2018 (Barbaresco, Barolo): Am Weingut parallel zu den anderen Baroli. Eher hell in der Farbe, die Nase ist weniger ausdrucksstark als Castelletto. Am Gaumen sticht die Säure hervor, ich habe nicht den Eindruck, dass die Frucht auf Dauer mitkommt.

body++, tannins+, acid+, juicy,
Palate: Blueberry, dark cherry, ripe lingonberry, Bitter herbs
modern but not overly oaked, very extracted, dense, almost oily
