Riesling and Pinot Noir Lunch (Sun Wah - Chicago IL): Double blind at Riesling/ Pinot Noir lunch. Fun and enjoyable, but clearly the most simple of the first three bottles of Riesling. Good balance with an Old World "village level" character, just lacking nuance.

Straw colored, light medium bodied, clean, crisp, complex, aromas of apple and lime, slightly off-dry with hints of lychee, peaches and baking spice with a subtle mineral and nicely balanced acidity on the textured finish. A crowd pleaser with great QPR.
Tasted as part of a comparative tasting of 12 Rieslings from around the world, this was selected as an archetypal Washington State Riesling. On the nose (which I'd call medium intensity at most), we noted yellow apple, lemon curd, honeysuckle, and wet stone. It had a hint of residual sugar (about 8-10 g/L) and a honeyed quality, with medium(+) acidity.

Discovered this in my cellar. Perfect with spicy Indian food tonight. Nose has petrol notes, almost a ginger spice note, bright Palate has nice crisp fruit, granny smith apple, tart, nice acidity, decent finish that's clean and crisp. Very nice food wine. Would buy again.
