New wine to match with tacos. $16 value (Costco) 2022 Long Shadows Wineries Riesling Poet's Leap. Sharp mid-gold; green fruit, stone fruit, Riesling nose; low-mid acids; off-dry (1.1 grams residual sugar, 12.3 alc.); semi-long, semi-lush finish; contrasts with light spice in Mexican food. Also good with stir fry. 15.5/89.

very pale greenish yellow and light-bodied. nose is a bit reticent and shows no petrol at the moment… instead citrus notes of grapefruit peel and lime, yellow peach, and orange blossoms. slightly off-dry and a bit austere on the entry, the nectarine and tangerine flavours emerge slowly but gain in concentration with time and temperature. an acidic core and a mineral vein with a spicy edge provide lovely contrast that carries into the moderate length.
Kabinett-style Riesling that is at the border of Trocken and Feinherb, and likely could use just a wee bit more time to gain expressiveness.
12.4% AbV; 11g/L RS, 7.9g/L acidity; from a vintage that ran long and ended very hot

I really enjoyed this wine. Punchy acidity, white peach, citrus, lemon rind, medium plus body.
