Decent wine, from an era that seems centuries old. hints of brett, and nevertheless enjoyable. Old school in style with tertiary aromas of leather, earth and mushrooms, not much fruit but the structure is holding up well. Soft tanins, a bit short on the finish. Clearly not up to the current standards, but a nice example of what average wines were a while ago in so-so vintages. I do not think it will benefit from a further aging.

Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of medium ruby colour, with fading garnet and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of black fruit of plum and blackberry, dried fruit of prune, oak notes of toast, sweet spice of cinnamon, maturity notes of savory, animal notes of leather. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium tannin of ripe and velvety texute, medium alcohol and medium (-) body, and medium intensity flavours of black fruit of blackberry and plum, oak notes of toast, maturity notes of savory, animal notes of leather. The wine has a medium finish. Conclusion: Good quality St-Emilion with a reasonably intense nose showing decent complexity, the wine is well-balanced, with good structure on the palate. It demonstrated however very light and relatively simple flavors. Overall it is ready to drink now though can benefit from further ageing of another 4-6 years.

Three hours breathing in the bottle resulted in a pleasant whiff of mellow red fruit with a subtle earthy warmth. Medium bodied, red berries, slightly herbal presence on the palate. Very good #QPR.

Fully mature, the color looks older than its true age. The wine is medium bodied, fresh and focused on its red berry, thyme and stony essence.
