2019 Bordeaux Tasting, MW tasting (Vintner's Hall, London): 63% CS 31% Mer 6% PV, 13% Very different, overripe, coffee flavors, liqueur flavored chocolate bits, there are some oxidative notes here that are also strange. Palete showing med body, black and blue fruit, nice tannins, med finish. Seems weird, out of place and simply lacking depth

This shows that you can still make excellent, classically-styled BDX at 13% ABV. Has that trademark floral elegance of Margaux, accented by minerals and blackberries on the nose. Anise, cassis, pomegranate and cherry flavors, on a fresh and vibrant frame. This is quite good.

I suspect for those with a classical palate preferece. Som earthy and floral notes. Blackcurrant. For the long terme cellaring. No flirting today.
Guide Hachette writes it may be the best since year 2000 but it's still relatively expensive at around 42eur a bottle. There is better Margaux 2019 for this money, like Ferriere or even Siran. I find it to be an unsure developement bet.

I guess we’re not supposed to be drinking this yet, but who cares? Lots of tree fruit including cherry and apricot with perhaps a hint of cool menthol. Vibrant acidity, pleasant tannins, and no alcoholic heat. By day 3 the fruit was more muted and the tannins did seem a bit too astringent.

Full-bodied, round, rich, ripe, lush and polished, the nose starts off with its display of flowers, dark chocolate and black currants. Soft, silky and lusciously-textured, the wine leaves with an energetic, polished finish which is the perfect back-drop for all of its sweet, dark plums, currants, licorice, cocoa, espresso and spice. Drink from 2026-2047.
