Not in best shape right now, bold and succulent, alcohol is quite present (14.5%), also restrained, fruit remained in the background even after 4 hours of air (although just in bottle, not in decanter). Cherry, some red currant and licorice with smoke and vanilla. Tannins are soft and acidity medium to low. Will leave my remaining bottles for a few years and check back

One of the more interesting Ribera del Duero I had recently. Spanish wines are well stocked on wine lists in Zurich, with Aalto, Mauro and Hacienda Monasterio being crowed favorites. This winery had a volatile past, but this 2015 by Telmo Rodriguez is great. Kind of full bodied but still light on its feet and well balanced it shows a beautiful fresh profile of various dark berries with underlying mocha, some chocolate and fresh acidity for such a wine. Pretty complex and interesting given the price (around $50). Gives some of the more expensive Vega Sicilias wine a run for their money.

Probably infanticide here. After 2 hr decant, it is better than average, but far from Parker’s 96. Tannins need to resolve and fruit to integrate. I am a bit worried by low acidity. Might affect future aging. Reminds me of Fondreche Persia, which is not a compliment. Too much of a compot right now. Almost Grenache - again not a compliment.
Somehow lacks character. Hopefully it will change.

Super enioyable Ribera del Duero, elegancy, well structured, oak combined with cherry, vanilla and some tobacco and earthy notes. Great to derink now.

Nice interesting tempranillo with good depth and a pleasing finish. Sadly the bottle is thin and cracked at the base wasting half a bottle.
