Roasted meats, sour cherry, maybe some thyme. Nicely structured on the palate. Finish is lacking and a bit alcoholic. Decent, if not exactly compelling.

Northern Rhones at Collin's (Chicago, IL): Dark reddish-purple with rich flavours of black and red fruits, spice, earth and minerals on the nose and palate, a silky texture, lifting acidity and a long finish. There was a second bottle of this (only difference was that the label on that read Blonde de Vidal Fleury) that wasn't quite as impressive, showing a little bit more oak and almost Chateauneuf like herb notes.
