Ripe black cherry fruit dominates, med grippy tannin, low-med acid. 14% Alc.
Approachable right now, but to me, its mostly about the fruit at this early stage. Try again in 5 years. I like the 17’ NSG Cailles better for nuance and complexity.

Domaine Chevillon NSG Les Roncieres 1er Cru 2019 A complex style with quite a high proportion of oak and it shows on the nose but already well integrated. A nose of black cherries, sweet spice and clove, with some nice herbs and flowers (are there violets?), hints of five spice powder, some sweetness, very alluring scents, powerful. On the palate, black cherries, sweet clove, blackberry, some licorice and anise notes, light spice, some savoury elements, good weight in the mid palate, excellent texture - quite silky and layered, fleshy and juicy, quite complex with good elegance, power and energy. Oak nicely integrated already. 93-94/100
