Very good. Young and bright and sharp as young Lamy is. Strong citrus note and nice energy and balance. Better with air. Gonna be better in 5 years as it rounds out.

Always a pleasure to drink one of my favourite Burg maker, very light color, tight nose, on the palate full of lemons, rich & full of energy, great purity, beautiful Blanc

Pale yellow. A bit of sulfur that quickly relents. Medium body. Rich underripe pineapple and pear on the attack, then limestone minerality and excellent acidity. I really like the balance between ripeness and structure here.

Saturday hangout at Domaine (Chicago, IL): If I'm to be totally honest (here, and to myself), the value proposition of Lamy just isn't quite there anymore, especially at this level. Not to mention that it seems like the style of the wines is quite different from the early 2010s. This is quite fat and opulent, and lacks the racy kick to balance it out (even though there's plenty of acid). The fruit is very ripe and sweet, and this drinks a little blowsy. There's some more cut with air, but that sweet peachiness and honeyed quality doesn't really go away.

France Trip: Paris, Champagne, Burgundy; 9/3/2023-9/17/2023 (Paris, Champagne, Burgundy): Pale gold color. Split bottle between the four of us at Le Millesime in Chambolle-Musigny. Citrus, tart green apple, a little lighter body, parafin, a bit more tart and aggressive on the back end. Good.
