No contemporaneous notes. I was surprised by the deep golden color. Not a blockbuster, but elegant. Very balanced and delicious. Enjoyed by my friends. (90-91).

Great value! The nose is fairly focused, yielding a blend of citrus and tropical fruits (i.e., pineapple, grapefruit, guava, and lemon) melded with smoky mineral-laced notes on the nose. In the mouth, it is immediately ready to go, with only the slightest buttery notes delivered in a lush and expansive package of citrus fruits and minerals. The oak is well integrated and barely noticeable, while being wonderfully balanced, with a long, delicious, and fruit-driven finish. The QPR doesn't get much better, and currently drinking super well!

Quick decant. Nose of honeyed fruit and beeswax. Plush, viscous poached pear palate with lemon custard, white floral notes, and exotic spice. A note of bitterness leads the finish into preserved lemon, honeycomb, dried ginger, and cinnamon notes. Evolved quickly in the glass.

I think this needs another year or two in the bottle to soften the oaky/prickly edges. Definitely better now with food - bordering on full bodied, with medium yellow color. Even after two days in the fridge, it hasn’t softened as much as I’d have expected.
