Agree with MHBeaune although decanting is unnecessary. This is a gorgeous, relatively inexpensive Sangiovese that is just totally lovely to drink now. Perhaps it will be good for several years, but the fruit is so wonderful it would be hard to put it aside. No significant tannins, but the wine is well structured and well-balanced, especially if you appreciate a wine with plenty of available dark fruit. If you can still find this I totally recommend, and the newer vintages appear to have slightly higher ratings on this website. Yummy.

Garnet. Sangiovese character, cherries, old wood, dust. Medium body, with fairly prominent leathery tannins. Lacks fruit and especially lacking in character beyond those mentioned. Tastes old and past it's prime.
Maybe this was a bad bottle? Cork had a good seal...

Amazing value. Delicate nose after 3 hour decant and served at about 18c. Smooth entry obviously Sangiovese as expected but smoother than many at this price level. As it warmed up the forward fruit became much more obvious without any sign of tannins. EXCELLENT for it’s level.

Decanted for 2 hours served at around 18c. Needed at least a 3 hour decant. Started off at about 88 with a dry finish after an hour in the glass became much smoother with stronger fruit in the mouth and a nice smooth follow through
