Probably generous rating here. Aromatics were scant, as others have noted; main note being a slight corked-like thing. Tired and uninteresting on the palate for the most part -- and fairly sour. Would have been passable over all if 1/10th the price. But alas.....

(Mostly) Oregon Dinner at Cherry Circle Room (Chicago, IL): Funny. Had this a year ago. My notes read almost exactly the same as last year. This wine simply has no nose. It's dumb and totally muted. There are some nice red fruit notes on the palate, as well as soft and velvety tannins... and not much else. I retasted this a few hours later to the same results. This wine is shut down hard. Will it ever awake? Who knows...

This bottle just didn't want to yield anything. Maybe still in a bit of a dumb phase? Tough to judge and you were left sensing something was there but it just didn't want to show.

Dinner at RPM Steak (Chicago, IL): No nose at all... weird. The palate though is very nice, Lambrays-like in its purity and crystalline red fruit quality. Lots of tart cherries. Light but austere. That lack of nose is definitely really odd though...

(Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils Mazy-Chambertin) Dark cherry color with clear meniscus; barnyard and tart cherry nose; tasty, tart red fruit, tart cherry and mineral palate, with good acidity; medium-plus finish 92+ pts.
