  • By far the best showing of this wine. Surprisingly youthful color. Red fruit, rhubarb and some baking spice on the nose. Black and red fruits, sous bois, medicinal notes on the palate. Nice acid too. Other bottles had been a bit thin -- this one has more density, fruit, acidity, and overall balance. A fine example of a great producer making good wine in a poor vintage. Last bottle -- great way to finish things off.

  • LAW Burgs: Sherry color; old spice, hint funk, pruney, plums, stewed cherries for sure--pretty fragile; nice beaut. flavors, concentrated mth, still good a’s w/tertiary notes; 2nd: appreciated the backbone of the GC after the grt ’76 GC villages.
