  • Lots of lemon, lime and orange, green and mid-ripe pears. Absolute please and excellent QPR.

  • there seem to be two kinds of Sancerre. one crisp, with racy acidity, bright fruit and leaf flavours, light and easy to drink, tasting of summer in a glass, a wine that seems to disappear as soon as a bottle is opened. and the other: soft, less acidic, floral with yellower fruit, oak tinged (and/or lees aged or malo), to my mind somewhat slow, cloying and stale, a wine where there always seems to be more left in the bottle. this is definitely in the latter camp. seems to miss what's special about Sancerre to me.

  • A big desire for more! Clear in the glass, light yellow-green in color, slight streaks on the edge. Unobtrusive on the nose, restrained hints of ripe, yellow fruit and a minimal trace of wood. In the mouth there is a perfect interplay of initially clearly perceptible but by no means aggressive acidity, closely followed by ripe fruit, which takes over as it progresses. Finely graduated aromas of quince, gooseberry and lychee. Very harmoniously put together. In the finish there is a slow and somewhat mineral farewell, the acidity returns again. There is a lot of encouragement to take the next sip. A fine and rather slender wine, no intrusive woody aromas, nothing disturbs the enjoyment, no force. A perfect cinema. Absolutely ready to drink at this age, but can still last another two or three years. Good temperature was 12 degrees, some oxygen was useful. Goes well with light dishes but is also a lot of fun on its own.
