a truly nice glass of wine. deep purple color with a bit of tannin. from a half bottle, decanted since cork split in half. became very dry in the hour in sat in the decanter. the tannin increased over that hour. drank with grilled lamb ribs. wished i had another bottle to experience two years from now.

(Decanted for half an hour) Deep red colour with a brick red hue and a maturing nose showing sweet red fruit, fresh tarragon and some minerals. Still showing tannins giving a structure backing up the palate combined with drying fruit and herbs in a nice and pleasant way. (Best 2014-2029)

Mid mahogany to tawny edges, the bouquet is all tertiary with dried autumn leaves, tar, raspberry compote, sage, thyme and some menthol elements. Medium-bodied, the entry is all strawberry compote but keeps framed by crisp, tight acidity and narrow tannins that remain linear towards the end. No real breadth; the wine feels quite evolved, showing lots of savoury marmite and sea kelp. A good but not great wine with understated power and reasonable concentration, but the core is missing. The finish shows more tar and dried red flowers. Medium length, and the tannins build to quite a puckering sensation. On its way out.

Alas, last bottle. Still an awesome experience. Dark purple fruit, tar, herbs, smooth edges, medium finish. Wish I had more.
